evening with Joya

She spoke this week on Democracy Now!

Meet her Tuesday, October 8

Food for Thought Books
106 North Pleasant St.
Amherst, Massachusetts

Joya is a courageous Afghan woman who was elected to the (U.S. installed) Afghan Parliament.  In her first speech she spoke out against the warlord government and was silenced.  She never stopped and was eventually thrown out of the parliament.  She faces death threats and cannot live openly in Afghanistan.  Yet she continues on.
